what is it with homophobes and islands

little does he know i would love to be exiled on an island away from straighties

*pounding fists on table, chanting* gay island! gay island! gay island!

The fool in question is Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas. A Rethuglican, naturally.  This is what he actually said, word for word:

We could take four heterosexual couples, married, and put them on an island where they have everything they need to sustain life. Then take four all-male couples and put them on an island with all they need to sustain life, take four couples of women, married, and put them on an island, and let’s come back in 100 to 200 years and see which one nature says is the preferred marriage.

So apparently he doesn’t think that gays and lesbians should get married because marriage is all about the babies, but he’s perfectly fine with a limited gene pool that could create lethal recessives, and that would, by virtue of the couples being isolated for a hundred to two hundred years, guarantee incest.

He’s also forgetting that straight people make lgbt+ people. So the heterosexual people would have to ship their gays to the gay island. Second what about bisexual people? You know a woman that’s already had a kid and the baby’s  father decide it ain’t working and got with a lady after and took her kid with heror vice versa with the genders switched. Also he’s forgetting trans men can be gay and trans women can be lesbian so they can  have children sometimes too. This guy really didn’t really think this through did he?

I’m not sure that he knows that bisexual or trans/non-binary people exist.  Then again, this idiot thinks that legalized bestiality is the natural outcome of same-sex marriage and has compared LGBTQ advocates to Hitler’s Third Reich. We’re not talking about anyone who is within shouting distance of being well-informed.

Wasn’t that the guy who claimed Obama was restarting the Ottoman Empire?

This is the calibre of the anti-logic we’re working with, folks.
